How do you balance traditional craftsmanship with modern fashion trends?

'Staying updated with fashion trends is second nature after years in the industry, but our focus is on discerning meaningful trends from fleeting fads. We aim to step away from short-lived fashion cycles and build a brand rooted in quality, accessibility, and ethical production.

Our collections feature a thoughtful mix of classic handwoven and hand-spun pieces alongside contemporary designs like balloon pants, with 65% of our materials sourced from rescued pre-consumer fabrics and the rest from traditional weavers. Personally, after years as a fashion blogger wearing a variety of clothing, I’ve realized the value of well-made, meaningful pieces—this ethos drives everything we create'

"The most exciting trend for us
is the rise of conscious consumerism,
as more people embrace intentional purchasing"

Burst a myth for an unaware consumer.

'Sustainable fashion is often perceived as unaffordable,

but when considering the 'cost per wear,'

it can be more economical than fast fashion.

High-quality, responsibly sourced pieces last longer and

reduce the need for frequent replacements,

making them a cost-effective and planet-friendly choice. Sustainability doesn’t always mean expensive—it’s about thoughtful design, durable materials, and reducing waste, making timeless fashion accessible to a broader audience'

How crucial is intention in brand building?

'Intention is the soul of a brand.

It fosters authenticity, builds trust, and creates emotional connections with customers.

A clear purpose not only guides a brand’s strategy but also resonates with consumers, turning them into loyal advocates'

How easy or difficult is it to run a brand in the era of social media?

'Social media is both a blessing and a challenge.

It offers unparalleled reach and direct customer engagement, but standing out amidst constant content requires strategic storytelling and consistency. It’s about more than just visibility;

it’s about building genuine connections that

translate into loyalty'

How does collaboration
with the artisanal
community work?

'We collaborate directly with Indian weavers from regions like Assam, Kerala, and Telangana, forging personal connections to ensure ethical sourcing. The 2018 Kerala floods highlighted the vulnerability of weaving communities, inspiring us to support them by prioritising handloom and hand-spun fabrics from artisans and organisations like KVIC.

While our impact is currently modest, we dream of scaling up to preserve traditional crafts and elevate these artisans' livelihoods, ensuring they have sustainable work opportunities in the contemporary fashion landscape'

Choosing a favorite is like picking a favorite child—everything we make is crafted with love. But if I had to choose, it would be our Balloon cargo pants.
They’ve even made it to a Converse billboard campaign, which makes them extra special!

How do you see the slow fashion movement evolving in the coming years?

Slow fashion is gaining momentum as consumers prioritize quality over quantity and demand accountability from brands. We envision a future where transparency, ethical sourcing, and circular practices are the norm. For us, accessibility remains crucial—we aim to make sustainable fashion approachable for everyone while creating meaningful impact for the artisans we work with. Our dream is to grow into a fully circular brand that uplifts the craft and lives of those behind our products
