“How can we be so arrogant?
The planet is, was, and always will be stronger than us. We can’t destroy it; if we overstep the mark, the planet will simply erase us from its surface and carry on existing. Why don’t they start talking about not letting the planet destroy us? Because 'Saving the Planet' gives a sense of power, action and nobility”

- Paulo Coelho

This sparked the ideation of CRCLE.

'Starting a clothing brand has been my dream since I pursued design in 8th grade, says Varshne, founder of Crcle. However, studying fashion and working in the industry exposed me to its harsh reality—the immense waste and environmental harm it causes. Rooted in the belief that life and nature thrive in cycles, CRCLE embodies circularity by restoring disrupted cycles through a circular economy and mindful living.
Beyond using sustainable, recyclable materials, we approach sustainability holistically—designing with a system mindset rather than just focusing on products. By integrating circular design thinking at every stage, we ensure that each product is consciously created, used, and reintegrated into the cycle.

WEGANOOL
A Fabric That Benefits the Planet and People

Weganool is a cruelty-free, plant-based fabric crafted without chemicals. Made from carefully extracted Calotropis stem and pod fibers, it is blended with organic cotton to create a luxurious, sustainable textile.

Additionally, the fiber extraction process generates residues that are repurposed into AARKA, a natural agricultural product that acts as a pest repellent while boosting plant immunity.
We collaborated with a manufacturer in Tamil Nadu who developed this fabric and worked closely with them to achieve the exact weight and weave we envisioned.
This innovative method elevates WEGANOOL beyond being merely a textile material, turning it into a potent symbol of conscientious production. It showcases nature's inherent capacity to harmonize and flourish without generating waste.

Who’s your target audience?

Describe Crcle in a sentence

CRCLE bridges the gap between sustainability enthusiasts and fashion-forward consumers. Our approach proves that style and sustainability can coexist. We challenge the notion of sustainable fashion being dull by creating consciously crafted, premium-quality products that blend innovation, refined cuts, timeless craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.

"Consciously Created"
Thats the brand's tagline as well. That’s exactly how all our products are created as well – with a lot of conscious decisions and mindful processes. We realised that being 100% sustainable is a very tough journey but we can all still be conscious with the choices we make.

How does CRCLE balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability in its designs?

At CRCLE, aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability coexist seamlessly through a 360-degree approach rooted in circular design thinking. This mindset is embedded in all our processes, making it intuitive to create products that are both purposeful and responsible.
One example is our bestselling
Tranquil Shirt, crafted from 100% post-consumer cotton fabric in
a houndstooth weave. Each piece is individually hand-dyed in indigo using a dip-dye technique,
making every shirt one-of-a-kind. It features corozo buttons which is a sustainable alternative to the
usual plastic buttons, along with functional front pockets for added practicality.

We came across your bag collection on the website. With luxury brands dominating the accessories market, what strategies are you implementing to establish your presence in India?

In a market where luxury brands dominate accessories, CRCLE is carving its own niche by offering consciously crafted, design driven bags that blend sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation. Our strategy focuses on storytelling and education, highlighting the uniqueness of our materials while emphasizing circular design principles. We also differentiate ourselves through limited, thoughtfully designed drops that create exclusivity while ensuring mindful production. Rather than competing directly with traditional luxury brands, we position CRCLE as a modern alternative—where luxury is defined by purpose, craftsmanship, and responsible innovation.

What unique challenges do you face when working with innovative, sustainable, and recyclable materials?

One of the biggest challenges of working with innovative, sustainable, and recyclable materials is balancing quality and cost. Many eco-friendly fabrics are expensive, making them less accessible for a growing brand like ours. Sourcing is another hurdle, as supply chain transparency is still evolving, making it difficult to verify true sustainability. Despite these challenges, we constantly research, test, and refine our approach to ensure every material we use aligns with our values and standards.

Do you view social media as a challenge or as a valuable tool in shaping the future of your brand?

It’s a mix of both. On one hand, it offers a powerful platform to connect with a broad audience, share our story, and showcase our products and philosophy. It helps us engage with like-minded individuals, raise awareness, and build a community around our values. The challenge, however, is standing out in the constant stream of content and ever-evolving trends.

With more consumers becoming conscious buyers, there's a rise in sustainable brands.
What sets CRCLE apart in this growing market?

What sets CRCLE apart in the growing sustainable market is our holistic approach—combining circular design thinking, premium craftsmanship, and innovative materials. While many brands focus solely on sustainable products, we consider every stage of the product lifecycle, from design to disposal. By integrating cutting-edge materials with timeless craftsmanship, we ensure durability, reduce waste, and elevate sustainability without compromising on style, aesthetics, or functionality. CRCLE redefines sustainable fashion by blending luxury with responsibility, proving that high-fashion design and sustainability can coexist seamlessly.
